Welcome to Freddie and Dawn's Bear Canyon Lodge!
Bear Canyon Lodge
Bear Canyon Lodge is tucked away in a secluded canyon nestled among the pines and aspens and rests against National Forest. Only 1.5 miles from South Fork (towards the ski area), this cabin combines the solitude and peacefulness of being away from it all and yet is conveniently located with year-round access. Wildlife is abundant, and the scenery is spectacular.
Our Story - We had traveled to South Fork and the Wolf Creek area for many years prior to purchasing Bear Canyon Lodge. We always rented a place and were often disappointed that the pictures created an illusion of seclusion when, in reality, the cabin was in a neighborhood, on a main road, or smack dab in the middle of town. We promise you will not find that at Bear Canyon Lodge. These photographs accurately reflect the peaceful setting.
Bear Canyon Lodge is set up in two different living areas both of which have their own kitchen and entrances, which is great for dividing up your group or families. There are three bedrooms, three bathrooms, plus a large loft; the cabin sleeps up to sixteen people. The cabin has three king-sized beds, two full-sized beds, two twin-sized beds, and two foldout couches. There is a hot tub outside on the wrap-around deck that overlooks the canyon. The deck also has tables and chairs and two grills (propane and charcoal) for your barbequing pleasure. Inside is a fireplace to cozy up to after a day of skiing or hiking.
The main kitchen has an antique wood-burning stove, in addition to all the modern conveniences; i.e. conventional stove, dishwasher, microwave . . . and even a crock pot and bread maker. There are three dining tables for hosting a large holiday meal or a large group. The cabin is fully furnished and even includes a high chair and a play pen for the little ones. We also have a satellite TV, DVD/VCR, washer/dryer, and a telephone/answering machine.
Bear Canyon Lodge is equipped with a state-of-the-art RinnaiTM tankless hot water system that provides a never-ending flow of hot water. So, if a dozen skiers come off the mountain and all want to shower back-to-back-to-back - not a problem!
Bear Canyon Lodge is the perfect place to get away from it all! Please do not hesitate to call or e-mail with questions, as I love to talk about my favorite place in the world. I also pledge that I will give you honest answers to any questions and give you both the pros and cons of the lodge, the surrounding area, and the ski area.
